    A body has been found today by officers searching for a man missing from home for two days.  South Yorkshire Police said a body was found in the water at Victoria Quays, close to the Hilton Hotel, at around midday.

    The body has not yet been identified but is believed to be that of 19-year-old Alex Wilson, who vanished on a night out in Sheffield city centre in the early hours of Sunday.

    Handsworth Wood banker, 41, had been missing since Broad Street night out on November 20 2015. Police searching for missing Birmingham banker Inderjit Bhogal have found a body after an underwater search of city canals.

    The 41-year-old, from Handsworth Wood, was last seen on Broad Street in Birmingham's city centre at around 10.45pm on Friday November 20.

    A member of the public raised the alarm after discovering Mr Molloy's body in water near Lock 6 on Monday.

    The 18-year-old had been at the Bridge Bar in Latchford village with family and friends on Saturday before leaving alone at 23:30 GMT. He was last seen leaving the bar alone at about 23:30 GMT. Police had been searching the locks on Friday and his body was found later that day.

    Officers have ruled there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

    Divers are preparing to search the Bridgewater Canal near Trafford Wharf Road.

    Police cars and ambulances are outside Victoria Warehouse but the venue have confirmed they are not involved in the incident.

    A body has been discovered in the water at Salford Quays.

    The police's underwater search and marine unit were called to the scene on Thursday morning. It is understood the body was found in a canal near Ontario Basin, close to some luxury apartment blocks. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service also confirmed specialist firefighters are at the scene following reports of an unidentified body.

    It is not yet known if a man or woman's body was found.

    A body has been found in Portland Basin near Ashton town centre...just months after a man was found dead in the same stretch of water.


    A man’s body was discovered in the canal behind the Portland Basin Museum on Portland Place on Monday lunchtime.

    A woman's body has been found in the Ashton Canal in Tameside.

    A passerby made the discovery as they walked along a towpath near The Boundary pub, Audenshaw, early on Friday morning.

    Police were called to a stretch of water off Audenshaw Road and Stockport Road at 9.25am. The woman has not yet been identified and a GMP spokesman said it was too early to establish if there were any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
